It was a close call, and Godby’s Devin Anderson edged out Valwood by less than 150 votes. The 75 yard pick six was a thing of beauty, and one Anderson called.
He said he’d seen that play from Chiles before. He said he expected it, and when he saw the pass, he stepped in, picked it off, and when he saw nothing but green grass in front of him, he knew he was taking it all the way.
“You’re running and then you’re looking at the crowd and it’s cool,” he said. “That’s amazing. That feeling felt great. I want to think the man above. I wouldn’t be here without him.
